Environmental sensitivity and strong attention to sustainability have always characterized Start Romagna and today represent a true cornerstone of our mission.

Monitoring environmental impact — acoustic, atmospheric, and visual — is a strategic priority for us. This is why we invest heavily in technologies, vehicles, and behaviors that minimize emissions and improve air quality.

We believe that making the world a better place requires everyone’s commitment. Start Romagna aims to be at the forefront and lead by example.

We constantly analyze the environmental impact of our public transport system, improving vehicles and operational processes to reduce emissions.

Environmental sustainability projects

We actively participate in several environmental projects, including:

Clean Port Project

A project aimed at creating an LNG coastal depot inside the Port of Ravenna, replacing petroleum-derived fuels in both maritime and urban contexts.

PAIR 2020 – Regional Air Quality Plan

A regional plan defining concrete actions to improve air quality and reduce pollutants such as PM10, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, VOCs and sulfur dioxide.

A greener and more efficient fleet

To reduce environmental impact, we are constantly renewing our bus fleet. €34 million have been invested over the last three years toward cleaner technologies.

Today, about 40% of Start Romagna’s buses run on methane, others are hybrid-electric, and all Euro II or lower vehicles have been completely phased out.

Public transport as a sustainable choice

Choosing public transport means reducing private traffic, lowering emissions, and improving air quality. With an increasingly efficient and eco-friendly fleet, Start Romagna contributes daily to a cleaner Romagna.
